Thomas Glavey B.Sc. MRICS MSCSI RV
Thomas graduated in 1998 from Limerick Institute of Technology receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Property Valuation and Management. He is a Member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland (SCSI) since 1998, formerly the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute (IAVI), and also holds dual Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Thomas is a RICS Registered Valuer (RV) and carries out Red Book Valuations for both private purposes and many of Ireland’s Lending Institutes, whom he is appointed to as a Panel Valuer. Holding a PSRA Licence (A-D) he can provide professional advice and act on your behalf as a selling agent for all property types.
Thomas spent many of his formative professional years working with one of London’s leading Independent Estate Agents and specialised in the capitals’ fast paced residential property market with particular emphasis on lettings and property management. Consistently promoted, Thomas held senior roles with responsibility for heading up integral departments within the company’s residential division. Providing regular financial reports, KPIs and other analytical information to Group Directors, and the CFO, was a key element of these roles together with the management of staff, integration of CRM systems and Client liaison.
In 2011 Thomas successfully qualified as a RICS Chartered Surveyor and in 2014 had the opportunity to take up a position within the Chartered Surveyor Division of the same company. Practicing as a Residential Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer he has valued thousands of properties from one-bedroom Leasehold apartments to large Freehold houses in some of the most affluent areas of London.
Never forgetting his upbringing on the family farm and the grá for the land, Thomas and his young family returned to Galway in 2019. Combining a balance between managing the family farm and practicing as a Chartered Surveyor, Registered Valuer and Estate Agent have complimented each other over the last number of years, particularly within agricultural sales and leasing, which together with other areas of the business Long & Co are continuing to expand and build a strong professional reputation for in the West of Ireland.
Thomas believes his experience of working within one of the world’s leading residential property markets has proven to be invaluable and provided a unique opportunity to put into practice the professional approach and ethos that all Clients should expect to receive in the Irish marketplace from a Registered Estate Agent.
